As we prepare for quarter 2, I would like to introduce a new member to the San Tan Charter community. I am excited to welcome Dr. Wayne Porter, Ph.D., as our new Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction!
Dr. Porter is starting his first day of work today and joins our team to help support us in strengthening curriculum alignment, formalizing survey and data-driven systems tied to school accreditation, expanding our professional development and teacher coaching, and helping us make sure our practices become sustainable and weaved into our school culture.
Dr. Porter began his career as a mathematics teacher, later serving as Math Department Chair and Master Teacher at Chandler Prep. He holds both his M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction/Mathematics Education from Arizona State University. He has been married to his best friend, Julie, for over 36 years and together they have three grown, married children who all reside in Arizona and one grandchild, Grayson.

Registration for the 2025-2026 winter sport season is open (Sign-up here) Remember that your student-athlete will not be able to participate in their sport until the full registration process is complete . Mandatory Winter HS Sport Meeting:
Something new this year is the HS only mandatory meeting before each season. The winter meeting will take place on November 18th at 6PM in the Main Gym. At least one parent or guardian of a winter sport athlete and their athlete is required to be in attendance for this meeting. Failure to attend this meeting will result in a one-on-one meeting to go over what was discussed. We will have a check-in table at the front where you will check in before you enter the gym. At this meeting I will be going over player/parent athletic honor code, sport banquets, transfers, AIA sportsmanship rating, and our partnership with spooner sports medicine. If you attended this meeting in the fall, you do not need to attend this meeting again in the winter. Please reach out if you have any questions!
Sport Specific Zoom Meeting INFO:
More information will be sent out with each sports zoom link and day/time it will be taking place. At these zoom meetings our coaches will go over basic information to get ready for the season. You will also be able to ask any sport specific questions at these zoom meetings.

EF Tours Trips 2025

San Tan students and families are invited to join us in March of 2027 on an 11 day TREASURES OF THAILAND excursion with our travel partner EF Tours. We will be exploring everything from bustling cityscapes to the Erwan Waterfalls, floating markets, elephant sanctuaries, white sand beaches and the Grand Palace and so much more!
